Ungovernable News: Woman Allegedly Shot Man Who Asked her to Move Porsche
A Tennessee woman named Katie Quackenbush has been accused of shooting a homeless man who asked her to move her Porsche out of the way. According to TheTennessean, the 54-year-old man whose name is Gerald Melton was shot in the abdomen by the woman on August 26. Because of that, Melton has been in Vanderbilt University Hospital recovering from critical injuries. Since then, Quackenbush has been charged with attempted murder.
Police put out a press release summarizing the scenario, saying that the man was “trying to sleep on the sidewalk” near the woman’s Porsche truck around 3 AM. He then “became disturbed by exhaust fumes and loud music” from the Porsche, which led to him asking the woman to move her car. From there, the two began to argue, with the man eventually walking away and going back to where he was sleeping. Police think that the woman eventually came back with a gun from her car, continued her argument with Melton, and eventually shot him twice. The homeless man said that she hopped into her car and drove off after that.
Quackenbush says the scenario played out much different, saying she witness Melton harassing other women not too far from her truck as she and her friends were heading back to her Porsche. Her father claimed that the man approached his daughter and threatened to kill her and her friends. From there, she pulled a gun and threatened to fire two warning shots if Melton did not fall back. The investigation into what truly happened is still taking place.
